Outfit Rules
Azure Search

Last updated November 5, 2007

The Azure Twilight is a teamwork-focused outfit. By standardizing our procedures, knowing what to expect from your teammates and working as a team, we will continue to be the best outfit in Planetside.

The #1 Rule: Respect Your Fellow Players

This includes all players, whether they are in the Azure Twilight or not, including all VS, NC and TR. Any infraction will result in immediate lifetime banning from AT. Our goal is to make Planetside a better place for everyone.
  • No TKing. Team killing will not be tolerated. Period. (This includes annoying knifing.)
  • No profanity in in-game chat (all channels), on Teamspeak, or in the forums.
  • We work as one team at all times. If teamwork is not what you are looking for, you are in the wrong outfit.

What To Do When You Come Online

When you come online, you should always (and in this order):
  • Log on to Teamspeak
  • Log in to Planetside, press P and join a listed Azure Twilight Outfit Squad. Now you will know "where we are".
  • Press P, go to the left-most Squad tab and find our homebase.
  • Go directly to the Homebase bind point by either dropping, driving, or flying and BIND there. Do not go to where we are or you won't be properly bound. Once you enter the homebase SOI a window should pop up allowing you to bind without leaving your vehicle. Now you will be able to spawn with us and stay with us.
  • Ask in outfit chat if you should wait for the gal to arrive, or max up/drive/fly and meet up with us
  • If the continent is poplocked, get in the queue and if it is long, ask us in outfit chat what you should do

Teamwork

The number one focus of the Azure Twilight is Teamwork. This means that we work as a tight, cohesive group. The more we work together, the better you will get to know your teammates, the more fun you will have. This is why the Azure Twilight has been the most successful, longest-lived outfit in Planetside.
  • You are expected to squad with the outfit at all times.
    • You are REQUIRED to squad with the outfit at primetime -- beginning at 7pm e.s.t. every night and running through the night until an Officer releases you to zerg.
  • You are REQUIRED to squad up with the outfit ANY TIME an Officer or Officer-in-Training tells you to squad up, whether it's primetime or not.
  • You may not squad with other outfits or in non-outfit squads with your Azure Twilight character.
  • When you are in squad, you must remain IN SIGHT OF and RIGHT NEXT TO your squadmates at all times unless otherwise directed.
    • If you do not see your squad members right next to you, YOU ARE IN THE WRONG PLACE!
    • If you stray from squad you will be kicked from squad and possibly from outfit.
  • When you die DO NOT TAP OUT -- DO NOT RESPAWN. Wait until we either revive you or tell you where to respawn. This will keep our team together.

Chain of Command

We always have one Ops Leader who is in complete control of the outfit. The Ops Leader will set the Outfit Objective and determines the waypoints (regardless of which squad leader he asks to set them). Keep it to one or two waypoints only. The person leading ops in in charge. Please do not question their orders. You may send them /tells if you have suggestions. Do not ask us "where are we going next?". We'll tell you.

Chain of Command, which is based on rank, is as follows:

  1. Azure Warlord
  2. Azure Officer
  3. Officer-in-Training
  4. Azure Veteran

Our Azure Officers are:

  • Beekergunship
  • crashalot
  • DargoTrox
  • Girstaquito
  • Gulfy32 (CrashOverride)
  • Kytten9
  • LupeFiasco
  • Nobel
  • ServiniusVS (GeneralAnarchy)
  • Wishere

Our Officers-in-Training are:

  • Mookids

The Azure Twilight is always looking for capable leaders. Leadership is not given it is earned. We look for people who demonstrate excellent "Attitude and Aptitude". See the Officers Section for details about our Officer-in-Training program.

Ops Leader and Squad Leader Responsibilities

The Ops Leader does not necessarily have to be in the squad leader position, but they have the right to be if they choose ( assuming they meet the following requirements). The squad leaders should manage their squads to:

  • Make sure everyone in your squad stays together
  • Make sure your squad is in the right position at all times
    • Being at the same base is NOT good enough
  • Check the outfit screen periodically to see any outfit people are not in squad and sent them invites/tells. Let an officer know if they do not squad up.
  • Set waypoints ONLY as asked to by the person leading ops
  • Each squad functions as a tight, individual unit.
    • During a base cap gold squad may secure the generator, while purple squad secures the spawn room and orange squad secures the CC.

Squad Leader Requirements

Squad leaders should list their squads using the standard "Azure Twilight Oufit Squad - Recruiting" name and colors. Set your squad favorite to "ouftit only" so that you are notified when non-outfit members want to join. Send them a tell outlining our playstyle, the location of homebase and the TS address (not password) before accepting their request to join.

    All Squad leaders must:
  • Be on Teamspeak with a microphone
  • Have the Air Support cert and take their turn flying
  • Keep their squad together at all times
  • People with Fodder rank may NOT lead squads
  • All Squads must be platooned with the outfit
    • No one may invite AT members into their squad and not follow outfit rules and/or Ops Leader

Squad Leader priority

The following ranks get first crack at being Squad Leader, in this order:

  1. Azure Officer
  2. Officer-in-Training
  3. Gal Pilot
  4. Azure Veteran
Within those categories, the person closest to CR5 gets priority.

Outfit Ranks
Azure Twilight outfit ranks offer a clear path for advancement in the outfit and ensure that all our members follow our outfit rules. Failure to do so will result in removal from the outfit.
Each rank is dependent upon fulfilling the requirements of the prior rank. The Outfit Ranks are cumulative, meaning that you must meet all the prior rank requirements to move up. And, we want you to move up!:
  • Level 1: Azure Warlord: Outfit Leader. Did I mention that this is a dictatorship?
  • Level 2: Azure Officer: Chosen for their proven leadership abilities and attitude. Our officers are the very best in Planetside. See the Officer section for more info.
  • Level 3: Azure Veteran: 10,000 points and chosen for their length of service, excellent teamwork and strong commitment to the outfit. This is a judgement call made by the Officers and OL.
  • Level 4: Azure Drop Commando: 1,000 outfit points, completes Basic Outfit Training and signs the Outfit Rules. This rank can and should actively recruit new outfit members.
  • Level 5: Azure Teamspeaker: 500 outfit points and consistently gets on Teamspeak (microphone not required)
  • Level 6: Azure Member: 100 outfit points and consistently joins and stays with squad
  • Level 7: Azure Recruit: Joins an Azure Twilight squad
  • Level 8: Fodder: All new members start here. Simply squad up to get promoted. If you reach 1000 outfit points and are still Fodder rank (i.e. you don't squad up) you will be removed from the outfit.

Azure Air Cav

Requirements
  • Beekergunship and IhateUNC2 are the Azure Air Cav Officers
  • Only Officer and Azure Veteran ranks are eligible to be in the Azure Air Cav or fly an air vehicle
    • All other troops must be in the gal
    • Never put vehicles in the gal unless specifically asked for by an officer
  • Gal(s) must be full
  • No more than three -- 1 mosquito, 2 reavers. (Call it in O chat, as we do with maxes. These are dedicated positions for the night until a change is decided.)
Responsibilities
  • Escort Gal to ensure safe drop. Stay with gal to protect if not needed at Dropzone.
  • Reconnoiter conditions before we choose a target
  • Clear the Dropzone. One person should drop 10 seconds before gal and use EMP and hack door.
  • Guard Dropzone. Suppress enemies on the ground and in the air. Also alert us to enemy droppers coming behind us.
  • Retake and hold tower if necessary.
  • Mosquito to fly over base to alert of incoming enemies, AMSs, etc. Also use radar to tell us how many enemies are in base.
  • Clear area between tower and base for max crash including taking down turrets, CE and dropping to open door.
  • While the Gal Team is holding the Tower/Gen/Tubes/CC, they can and do reconnaissance to scout our next drop.

Max Certification Is Required
  • Everyone is required to be certed in one Max at all times.
  • Choose either AI (Quasar) or AV (Comet). Not AA Max.
    • However, if you have Unimax, we will use AA to protect gal from time to time.
  • Every Max favorite must contain one box of med juice and one box of engy juice.
    • We will give you med and engy juice during basic training. Or, you can go to virtual training and save your favorite there
  • You only need to use your Max for our infamous Max Crashes and as needed in the Gal.

Basic Training Is Required
  • Once a week we hold basic training, usually on Wednesday at 9pm ET. This is to make sure that you know all the Azure Twilight tactics (see the Outfit Tactics) section.
    • Whether you are a vet from beta, or a new player, we want everyone to know OUR tactics so we can count on each other to do the right thing.
  • Training lasts one hour, is a ton of fun, and ends with a squad vs. squad battle and our famous knife fight.

Recruiting

Recruiting new outfit members is key to our success. Everyone at Azure Drop Commando rank (level 4) and above has the ability to invite people to the outfit. Recruit all No Outfit people you see by either sending them tells to ask if they are interested in joining a very organized, fun outfit or by simply typing /outfitinvite playername. When a player accepts your invitation, take the time to make them feel welcome, get them into squad, and help them to understand our playstyle as well as encourage them to get on teamspeak.

The command to invite someone to the outfit is /outfitinvite playername

Communications And Teamspeak

  • Good communication is at the very heart of the success of AT.
  • Pay attention to what is typed in Platoon and Outfit chat.
  • Listen on TS and read chat and you won't have to ask stupid questions.
  • You will always be told what to do, where to go once we have decided. We don't decide any earlier than we have to becuase Planetside is a dynamic game and things change constantly. The Ops Leader is talking with the officers on TS channel commander frequently. We know what we are doing.
  • Use typed outfit chat (/o) for general chatting, banter, questions and making fun of n00bs. Stupid questions are allowed here.
  • We maintain a TACTICAL TS environment. Teamspeak is not to be abused. Keep the chatter down. Keep it to necessary ops communications.
  • Only provide pertinent information and keep coms clear for the Officers who are trying to discuss targets on channel commander.
  • If we ask for a certain cert, don’t tell us what you don’t have! When in doubt, keep it to yourself!
    • We have absolutely no patience for inane chatter on TS.
    • People who abuse Teamspeak will be kicked off immediately. Repeated offense will result in being kicked from AT.
  • Azure Officers, Officers-in-Training and the Ops Leader are the only people who should be on the Teamspeak command channel.

Discipline

Following our rules and being respectful and friendly to all Planetside players (regardless of empire) is a prerequisite of membership. If there is a problem with a member, tell the Outfit Leader or an Azure Officer and let them handle it. If you have a problem with someone, let it go. Maybe the solution is to log off and take a break. Tempers can get hot. The answer to TKing is NOT TKing. TKing is strictly against outfit rules. If you act in an unsociable manner, you will be kicked from the outfit. We are here for fun and friendship. Only the Azure Warlord and Azure Officers are authorized to kick and/or promote members. If you kick someone, you are very likely to get kicked out of the outfit.

We are here to have fun but to be effective as well. We must strike a balance that meets the needs of the young and the old, the vets and the new members. We are here to play a game and to have fun. Fun takes many forms, but the most fun of all comes from working together as a team and being successful in our operations. Be respectful of your fellow members; help them understand how their role on the team is important and how we all can make a difference. Stick around for the long haul and you will get the rank and responsibility you desire.
